Pycnosorus globosus — billy buttons
Billy buttons — also known as drumsticks and craspedia — are one of Australia's most instantly recognisable native wildflowers. The perfectly spherical golden flower heads on long, slender stems are bubbly, bouncy and easy to grow, producing a display in the garden that continues to give long after the flowers are cut. Billy buttons dry beautifully and are a staple of dried flower arrangements, retaining their colour and form for months after harvest. Too beautiful to enjoy only at Christmas — this is a flower worth growing all year round.
