The tall kangaroo paw (Anigozanthos flavidus) is the most adaptable and widely grown of the kangaroo paw species. The furry, claw-shaped flowers on long stems are produced in red, yellow, orange and intermediate shades depending on the form, and are widely used as striking long-lasting cut flowers. Kangaroo paw is the floral emblem of Western Australia, growing naturally in the southwest of WA where it has been shaped by millions of years of adaptation to the Australian environment.
