This flower and herb drying rack is handcrafted in Melbourne from spotted gum and rose gum. Designed for ceiling hanging, the rack holds fresh flowers and herb bundles as they air dry. Every rack is unique, shaped by the natural grain and colour variation of the timber.

Australian hardwood

Spotted gum (Corymbia citriodora) is prized for its density, resilience and distinctive grain. Rose gum (Eucalyptus grandis) is a tall, straight-grained eucalyptus valued for its fine, even texture. Both timbers are finished with a premium weatherproof oil that enhances the natural grain while keeping the rack looking its best over time.

Ready to hang from the box

The set includes the rack, a brass S-hook for ceiling hanging and a 30m ball of natural jute string for tying your bundles. Hang in a well-ventilated space away from direct sunlight. If additional drop length is needed, extend with extra string or chain (not included).

If cared for properly, dried flowers and herbs can last years. You can use the rack to dry all kinds of plants, including:

How to use

• Fix a ceiling hook into a joist, structural beam or rated ceiling anchor.
• Hang the brass S-hook from the ceiling fixing.
• Level the rack by hand — the jute rope allows gentle adjustment.
• Tie fresh flowers or herbs in small bundles using the included jute string.
• Hang bundles from the rungs and allow to air dry in a well-ventilated space away from direct sunlight.
• Leave for 4-6 weeks.

The rack should be hung from a solid ceiling fixing rated to hold the combined weight of the rack and dried botanicals. A ceiling hook screwed directly into a joist or structural beam is the most secure option. If you are unable to locate a joist, use a ceiling anchor rated for plasterboard with an appropriate weight rating. If in doubt, consult a hardware professional before hanging. The rack is designed for indoor use only.
