Premium German craftsmanship
A mid-reach planting trowel crafted using traditional German forging techniques. The forged head sits on a 48cm ash button handle, giving a total length of 68cm and bringing the work up off the ground.
This is a trowel you use standing or crouched. The extra reach lets you plant into the middle of a bed without stepping in it, and the button handle gives you something to drive against when the soil is firm. At 420g it stays light enough for repeated work.
Perfect for Australian conditions
The mid-reach trowel changes the posture. Work from a crouch or standing position in your garden bed, reaching in rather than climbing in. Keep off the plants you have already set and keeps you working for longer.
Key features
Forged from high-carbon steel using high-quality German manufacturing, this trowel is designed for strength, edge retention and an extended working life. The 16cm head is longer than a hand trowel, which suits the deeper hole a tubestock plug needs.
Uses in the garden
- Planting tubestock and seedlings
- Digging planting holes without kneeling
- Reaching into the middle of a bed
- Working soil around established plants
- Backfilling and firming in new plantings
Materials and finish
- Hand-forged high-carbon steel head
- Ash wood button handle, ergonomic and shock absorbing
Caring for high-carbon steel
Wipe the head dry after use and apply a light coat of oil before storing. Cared for this way, the tool will outlast you.
