Australian native seed bombs for birds and pollinators
These Native Seed Box seed bombs are a simple and purposeful way to establish native Australian plants that support local birdlife, native bees and pollinators. Each bomb is rolled from Australian clay and compost packed with a curated mix of native seeds. Throw, water and allow nature to do the rest — no tools, no soil preparation and no experience required. A genuinely meaningful gift for anyone who cares about the Australian garden and the wildlife it supports.
A mix designed for birds and wildlife
The seed mix is chosen specifically for its value to native birds and pollinators — species that provide nectar, seed and shelter across different seasons and growth habits. Kangaroo paw attracts honeyeaters, wattle provides food and shelter for small birds, strawflower and everlasting daisy support native bees and the blue tussock grass adds structure and habitat value at ground level. Together they contribute to a more biodiverse and functional garden.
Seed mix
- Dwarf Strawflower (Xerochrysum bracteatum)
- Tall Red & Yellow Kangaroo Paw (Anigozanthos flavidus)
- Dwarf Golden Wattle (Acacia drummondii)
- Pink White Everlasting Daisy (Rhodanthe chlorocephala)
- Blue Tussock (Poa poiformis)
- Additional native species included seasonally subject to availability
How seed bombs work
The clay and compost casing protects the seeds from drying out, being eaten by birds and washing away in rain until conditions are right for germination. When moisture and temperature align, the casing breaks down and the seeds germinate directly into the surrounding soil — a natural, self-directed establishment that mimics how Australian wildflowers spread in the landscape without any intervention beyond the initial throw.
